Specialized styles
-
Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is especially helpful for clients undergoing cancer treatments or with a history of cancer, and post operative clients in need of support through the healing process. However, this modality is excellent for anyone’s general wellness due to its potential to improve digestion and sleep, relieve a feeling of bloating and heaviness, and promote overall relaxation.
-
Pre & Postnatal Massage
Focused on improving overall health, reducing stress, and relieving muscle tension in women currently pregnant or who have recently given birth, this style of massage can help reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, improve labor outcomes and newborn health, and support recovery following childbirth. Additionally, we highly encourage the power of massage to promote & foster general self-care in new mothers.
-
Oncology Massage
Using a variety of modifications and adjustments to traditional massage therapy techniques including the length of the session, pressures used, position of the client on the table, and areas of specific compromise or concern, this style meets the unique and ever changing needs of someone in treatment for cancer or living with a history of cancer.
I’m new to massage, what should I expect?
Start your session with a private consultation with your massage therapist to communicate any concerns and determine your personal needs and goals.
Following this check in your therapist will step out of the room allowing you to disrobe according to your comfort level and settle on the massage table, secure in the knowledge that we always employ professional draping standards to ensure privacy.
Your comfort is our priority, and we welcome your communication throughout your experience- we are happy to adjust pressure and positioning at any point during your massage.
